Castelul Cantacuzino
Cantacuzino Castle stands on the slope above Bușteni, facing the great wall of the Bucegi, about 40 km from Brașov. It was built in the early twentieth century for Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino in a Romanian neo-Brâncovenesc style, and the terrace view across the valley to Caraiman and the Heroes' Cross is as much the attraction as the rooms. Recently it has become famous as a filming location for Netflix's *Wednesday*, standing in for Nevermore Academy.
Hours: Monday–Thursday 10:00–19:00; Friday–Sunday 10:00–20:00.
Tickets (official, checked September 2026): castle, gallery and park — adults 85 lei, retirees and students 60, children 5–12 40, teenagers 13–18 45; castle and park, or gallery and park — 65/50/30/40 lei. The secret room and the LEGO museum cost 15 lei extra; VIP tours 150–200 lei per person.
It combines easily with Peleș, 15 minutes further south in Sinaia, and with the walk to the Urlătoarea waterfall. Weekend traffic on the DN1 is the main obstacle; trains stop in Bușteni. See the Sinaia & Bușteni guide.
