What this is
A complete, checkable guide to one city and the mountains it sits in. Hundreds of places across six categories — attractions and castles, pubs, craft beer and wine bars, restaurants, cafés and patisseries, cocktail bars and nightlife, and accommodation from Old Town boutique hotels to Poiana ski hotels and Bran guesthouses — each with its real address, coordinates and, where the venue publishes them, opening hours converted into a form the site can actually evaluate. That is what makes the "open right now" filter work.
Alongside the listings sit the things a listing cannot answer: which neighbourhood to sleep in, how the Poiana Brașov lifts and ski pass work, whether Bran is worth the queue, which day Peleș is closed, how bus 20 and the A1 airport line run, and how to get here from Bucharest Otopeni without losing half a day on the DN1.
How the listings are built
Place data — names, addresses, coordinates, ratings, opening hours and photographs — is ingested from Google Places and refreshed periodically. Editorial text, category introductions, guides and the practical pages are written by us.
We do not invent facts. Prices, hours and dates come from the operators' own pages wherever possible, with the month we checked them. Where something is uncertain or changes often — ski-pass prices before the season opens, above all — the page says how the thing works and points at the operator instead of printing a number that will be wrong within a season.
How this is paid for
Two ways, both of which we would rather state plainly than bury — and there is no display advertising on this site:
- Affiliate commission on accommodation booked through our Stay22 maps and links, and on tickets, tours and experiences booked through GetYourGuide and similar partners. They never change your price.
- Paid placement for venues, always carrying a visible badge, never affecting editorial text.
None of these decides what gets listed or what we say about it. A recommendation the reader cannot distinguish from an advertisement is worth nothing to anyone.
