Cafecita is the kind of café you find once and then plan your mornings around. It sits on Strada Octavian Augustus, towards Astra, well away from the bustle of Piața Sfatului: a small room with warm lights, a counter where the coffee is made without hurry, and a host — Andreea — whom customers mention by name in their reviews.

What to order

A cappuccino or a flat white with latte art — served with a glass of infused water on the side, a small courtesy you rarely meet in town. In summer, the iced latte, which more than one regular calls the best they have had. With the coffee: Portuguese custard tarts (pastéis de nata), lava cake and cakes made healthier than the pastry-shop kind.

Why it is worth the trip

Because it is a café for people, not for passing through. An intimate room, warm service with a smile, and a place that brings people together — it has even hosted a painting workshop. It opens at 7 in the morning on weekdays, so it is the good coffee before work, not only the afternoon one.
