Muzeul Civilizației Urbane a Brașovului

The Museum of Urban Civilisation, at Piața Sfatului 15, opened in 2009 in one of the old merchant houses on the square. It is arranged as a walk through time: from the seventeenth-century cellar up through the floors to the nineteenth-century rooms at the top, with the furniture, crafts, shop fittings and domestic objects of Brașov's burghers — Saxon, Romanian and Hungarian — in each period.

It is run by the Ethnography Museum and keeps the same schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 09:00–17:00 in winter and 10:00–18:00 in summer, closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We could not confirm the individual ticket price for 2026; it is included in the county's unified museum ticket and the Brașov Visit Ticket. Phone: +40 268 475 565.

It is a small, well-made museum that takes under an hour and pairs naturally with the square outside: once you have seen how these houses were lived in, Piața Sfatului looks different. Casa Mureșenilor is a few doors along.
