Three short slopes on a high pass — a family day with the Piatra Craiului in view
The Cheile Grădiștei base near Fundata, on the high road between Bran and Rucăr, is a small, family ski area at about 1,300 m: two short easy slopes at Fundata (267 m and 450 m) and a 570 m intermediate at Moieciu, each with a draglift and snowmaking. It is a venue of the 2027 European Youth Olympic Festival. Lift access is by points card — one point per ride, from 70 lei for five rides to 260 lei for forty for adults — and ski rental is cheap (about 80 lei a day for skis). It will not keep a good skier busy for long, but the setting is superb and it pairs naturally with Bran Castle on the way back. About an hour from Brașov; the pass road can close in heavy snow.
