Sinaia is the biggest and highest ski area within an hour of Brașov: about 20 km of pistes between roughly 1,000 and 2,090 m, most of it intermediate, with open, above-the-treeline skiing around Carpați 2000 — Valea Soarelui and Valea Dorului — and steep blacks such as Carp and Târle. A gondola climbs from the town to Cota 1400, a second one (Carp) continues to Cota 2000, and chairlifts serve the high valleys. Altitude means more natural snow than Poiana in a good winter, but also more wind and lift closures. In 2025/26 an adult day pass cost 210 lei on weekdays and 230 lei at weekends; lifts run 09:30–16:30, and the town gondola closes Monday to Wednesday for maintenance. Per-piste gradings are not published consistently.
