Poiana Brașov Ski Pass Prices: Day Passes, Points Cards and Discounts

First, the honest status

The ski-pass prices for 2026/27 have not been published (checked September 2026). In Poiana Brașov they are set by Brașov City Council, which in recent years has approved the new grid at the end of October — the 2025/26 prices were announced on 31 October 2025, with an average rise of about 9% on the previous winter. Everything below is therefore the 2025/26 tariff, taken from the city's official price page and the cable-car operator, and checked in September 2026. Use it to budget; expect the new figures to be in the same range or a little higher, and we will update this page as soon as the council votes.

One more piece of context: VAT on cable transport in Romania went from 5% to 19% at the start of 2024, which is why prices jumped that season. The current published prices include VAT.

Time passes (2025/26)

Adult price first, then the child price (6–12 years):

• One day: 240 lei / 140 lei
• From 11:00: 190 lei / 115 lei
• From 13:00: 150 lei / 75 lei
• From 14:00: 100 lei / 60 lei
• 4 hours: 180 lei / 110 lei
• 20 hours (flexible): 800 lei / 430 lei
• 2 days: 400 lei / 210 lei
• 3 days: 560 lei / 290 lei
• 4 days: 680 lei / 360 lei
• 5 days: 800 lei / 410 lei
• 6 days: 900 lei / 480 lei
• 10 non-consecutive days: 1,690 lei / 970 lei
• Season pass (named, non-transferable): 5,500 lei / 3,300 lei

Children under six ride free when accompanied by a family member. The lifts run 09:00–16:00; the Bradul drag lift runs until 18:00.

Points cards (2025/26)

The alternative to a time pass is a card loaded with points, where each lift ride costs a set number of points:

• 10 points: 70 lei / 45 lei (the cable-car operator lists 75 lei for adults)
• 20 points: 130 lei / 70 lei
• 30 points: 180 lei / 110 lei
• 60 points: 320 lei / 185 lei
• 80 points: 380 lei / 230 lei
• 120 points: 600 lei / 330 lei — 5 lei per point for adults
• 240 points: 1,020 lei / 530 lei — 4.25 lei per point

Points per ride depend on the lift and the period. In peak periods (in 2025/26: December, 20 January to 20 February, and Friday to Sunday for most of the rest of the season):

• Capra Neagră cable car and Postăvarul Expres gondola: 6 points
• Kanzel cable car: 5 points
• Ruia chairlift: 4 points
• Lupului chairlift: 3 points
• Bradul, Ruia and Subteleferic drag lifts: 2 points
• Stadion drag lift: 1 point

In off-peak periods (Monday to Thursday in early January and late February, and every day from early March) the three big lifts cost one point less, the chairlifts one point less, and the drag lifts stay the same.

Time pass or points? The arithmetic

A 120-point card makes a peak gondola ride cost 6 × 5 = 30 lei. Eight gondola laps in a day — a good, full day of long runs from the top — therefore come to 240 lei, exactly the price of a day pass. The rule of thumb:

• You ski hard from 09:00 to 16:00: buy the day pass. You will do more than eight lifts, especially once you start lapping the Ruia chairlift up top.
• You ski a relaxed half day or stop for a long lunch: an afternoon pass (from 13:00, 150 lei) or a points card is cheaper.
• You are a beginner on the nursery slopes: a points card is by far the best value. The Stadion drag lift costs one point a ride; a 30-point card at 180 lei buys thirty runs, which is more than most people manage on their first morning.
• You come several times over the winter: the 10 non-consecutive days pass (1,690 lei in 2025/26) beats buying single days from the fifth day on.

Pedestrians and single rides

Non-skiers can ride up for the view. A single ascent on the Postăvarul Expres gondola, the Kanzel cable car or the Capra Neagră cable car cost 40 lei for adults and 25 lei for children in 2025/26; up and down, 70 lei and 40 lei. The same ticket is valid on all three, so you can go up one and down another. Groups of more than 25 people get 20% off single tickets with prior approval.

Discounts worth knowing

• Brașov residents' Wednesday ("Miercurea brașovenilor"): 50% off the one-day, 4-hour and afternoon passes for people with an address in the city of Brașov. It is proof-of-residence only — hotel guests do not qualify.
• Visitors with disabilities and their companions: 10% off.
• Seniors: no separate senior rate appeared in the 2025/26 grid.
• Night skiing: no night-skiing tariff was published for 2025/26 (see our night skiing guide).

Where and how to buy

Passes are sold at the ticket offices at the base stations and online at skibv.ro, the joint portal of the City Hall and Ana Teleferic, where you can also top up an existing card. Three details trip people up:

1. The card carries a 20-lei deposit. Keep it for next time or return it.
2. An online ticket is valid only on the date printed on it. Buy late, once the weather is certain.
3. Unused services do not carry over to the next season.

How Poiana compares

For context, with the same caveat on dates: Predeal's Clăbucet listed 250 lei for a day in 2026 (Genetrix, checked September 2026); Sinaia charged 210 lei on weekdays and 230 lei at weekends in 2025/26; Azuga was around 200–220 lei. Poiana is therefore in line with the Prahova Valley resorts while offering the biggest lift network near Brașov. Our ski resorts near Brașov guide compares them in detail.

Budgeting a ski day

Add rental (roughly 100–150 lei a day for a full set; see ski rental and ski schools), lunch on the mountain and transport, and by our own estimate a day in Poiana for one adult with rented kit came to roughly 400–500 lei last winter, before lessons.
