Casa Mureșenilor

Casa Mureșenilor, at Piața Sfatului 25, is the family house of the Mureșanu family, one of the great names of Romanian nineteenth-century Brașov. Andrei Mureșanu wrote the poem that became the words of Romania's national anthem, "Deșteaptă-te, române!", and his relatives ran the city's Romanian newspapers. The house keeps their furniture, library, portraits and papers, and tells the story of the Romanian cultural revival in Transylvania.

Hours: Tuesday–Saturday 09:00–17:00; closed Sunday and Monday. Tickets: 8 lei for adults, 4 lei for seniors, 2 lei for children and students (checked September 2026). The house is covered by the county's unified museum ticket and the Brașov Visit Ticket. Phone: +40 268 477 864.

It is one of the cheapest and quickest visits in the city — forty-five minutes is enough — and it sits right on the square, so it fits between lunch and the Black Church. Note the unusual closing days: it is shut on Sundays, when most visitors are in town.
