Bastionul Țesătorilor

The Weavers' Bastion — Weberbastei — on the south-eastern side of the walls is the best-preserved of the defences the guilds built and manned, a four-storey wooden-galleried tower rising inside a polygonal stone shell. Today it is a section of the County History Museum devoted to the fortress of Brașov and the fortifications of the Bârsa region.

The reason to go is the scale model of seventeenth-century Brașov, which shows the walled town, its gates and the suburbs of Șchei and Blumăna laid out as they were — a quarter of an hour with it makes every walk afterwards easier to read. Displays also cover the weapons and organisation of the guild defence.

The bastion is at Strada George Coșbuc 9, just above the promenade under Tâmpa and a short walk from Poarta Ecaterinei. Entry is included in the county's unified museum ticket (adults 25 lei, valid 15 days) and in the Brașov Visit Ticket; we could not confirm the single-ticket price and 2026 hours, so check at the desk.
