If Poiana has a signature run, it is Sulinar: 2,820 m and 635 m of vertical from the upper stations down to about 1,070 m, graded intermediate, 35 m wide. The pitch is honest and fairly even, which makes it the best place in the resort to link turns at speed once you have outgrown the blues. It is also the most skied of the long runs, so by early afternoon on a weekend the steeper middle section is scraped to hard, shiny snow — on man-made snow after a cold night it can be icy from the first lift. Sharp edges help. Good intermediates can lap the top with the Ruia draglift; everyone else rides the gondola or one of the cable cars back up.
